We have been working really hard on our expansion, and it is coming along beautifully! We are filling it with great new products including small furniture and shelves....in fact they have already begun to arrive!!

Temple Blocks

I love to see the Temple. I'm going there someday. Every time I look at these blocks I'm reminded of that very loved song.

What a lovely reminder of who we are and what we stand for. Every time you look at these you will be reminded of our savior and father in heaven and our ultimate goal....to be worthy enough to walk in our heavenly father's home. They are very beautiful and invite the spirit into your home!

They are a favorite among Y.W. groups and Relief societies for activities. If a group orders 10 or more they will receive a 10% discount which makes them a favorite for church activities and girls camp!

They are about $10 to make and they are priceless to put in your home! They also make great wedding gifts!

They will be the talk of the town anytime you have company over! And you get to brag you made it!!!!

Techinques Class

We are going back to the basics with this very easy and important class! It's perfect for the "I have no idea where to even start" person! Yeah, a lot of people feel that way, and this class is made just for you! We cover steps a-z for completing almost every project we have! It's a quick class and you can make more than one if you wanted to! Even advanced do it yourselfers are welcome, who knows, you might learn a new technique you haven't tried!

Mar. 3rd 11:00 am Shamrock $10

This class is great for kids, beginners, or anyone who absolutely loves Shamrocks...I mean who honestly doesn't?

This is a fast class and perfect thing to do on a Saturday afternoon while you are wishing for some warmer weather! Well...that's what we wish for on our Shamrocks anyway!

Mar. 8th 6:30 A pair of Leprechaun Shoes $20

We love shoes here! Our witch shoes were a huge success and our favorite project last October! So why not have a lucky pair of Leprechaun shoes too? These are so stinking cute, if I do say so myself!

This class is all inclusive! We will have everything you need to make this fun project! Feel free to bring drinks and treats to share! It's going to be a party and the funnest project ever!

Mar. 15th 6:30 Quad Kit $25

Our Quad Kit is a double sided project and we will be doing the Spring and Summer sides in this class! The complete set covers all four seasons and you are welcome to pick up Winter and Fall supplies to finish the other sides at home or even wait until our class in Fall that will finish them! Either way it's lots of fun and we promise you'll love making them!

Classes must be paid for 1 week prior to hold your

All classes must be paid for to register and hold your spot. This can be done with a C.C. over the phone. You must sign up for classes at least 1 week prior to the date. Kids 8 and older may come to the easier classes. Kids under 8 may attend with adult supervision. Treats are definitely welcomed =)

Who wants to get FREE STUFF???? You can do it by hosting your own in store Party. You are the hostess, you bring the guests and treats if you like and you will earn 10% of all sales over $100 in free products.

Would be great for Conference Weekend when the men are at their meeting. Or... deer hunting weekend or....ANYTIME. These party days are not limited to Thurs-Sat.

While the big party isn't until September 10th, The Ivy Cottage is now OPEN!!!! That's right!!! The wait is finally over and the store is oh so cute if I do say so myself!!! We have an abundance of cute Halloween home decor!!! When I say cute...I mean SO FREAKIN CUTE you wont know what to do with yourselves!!!!! We have some absolutely darling home decor for every day as well, and you are going to love your options and the trendy things we have to sell! The baby boutique is filling up with some extremely cute hand made baby clothes, burp clothes, knitted booties, wipe covers and soooo much more!!!!

The DIY side of the store is full of crafts just ready to be taken home and made up to fit your stylish needs! There is no way you will leave empty handed!!! There's too much cuteness to get!!! Like we said before we have the biggest vinyl selection in the area and if we don't have it, we can make it!! We also have Metal and wood that have been specially cut by our favorite men! And they are ready to leave with you (the metal and wood, not the men)!

We are so excited to announce that we are opening a new location in Farr West, Utah this August!! We have been so blessed to have so many wonderful customers who are making this new store possible! We will have the same type of "do it yourself" crafts in the back, we will also have the largest selection of vinyl in the area, and the front of our store will be a boutique with beautiful home decor and children's clothing!!! But wait...that's not all we will also have a classrooms and we can't wait to have you come in and sit for a lesson!! In fact if you want us to teach you something specific let us know and we will do what we can to hold a class!! Please stay tuned for more about the new store! Eeeeks I can't wait!!!

More Summer fun

We are ready for sunnier days and to prove it we have been working on a ton of Summer Decor and of course 4th of July Decor! I am so excited for you to come in and check out what we have new in stock right now! Here is a little taste of some yummy summer time fun!

Doesn't this just make you wanna go soak up some sun on the beach or have a picnic with the little ones?! Bright colored papers really make this something special to look at! And the watermelon u! How can you not love this!?!

These are bought and used for so many decorative purposes! They are perfect for creating a summer ambiance but I am not going to lie a lot of customers have gotten these for bedrooms and play rooms! They convey a sweet calm feeling, don't you agree?!

Look at the cuteness that is Uncle Sam! We have wood and beadboard cutouts for this darling patriotic set! We sell paper that has this fun distressed look or you can get some inks and distress it on your own, which is one of my favorite things to do!

These stars are so cute. The are extremely versatile to decorate. You can use bright red, white and blue paper and give it a more traditional fourth of July look or give this a rustic country fourth of July feeling like the one we have here! Either way you are going to be so happy with the results!

I love these! I think all Americans should have these hanging in their living rooms! Aren't these a great reminder of what a wonderful country we live in?!

Behind the Ivy Cottage

I have been abundantly blessed with an amazing crew that I love so much and love me enough to work really hard so that I can live one of my dreams! Everything that is cut for my store is done in house by some extremely talented guys and gals! This includes the wood, vinyl and metal! We also design our own stuff and we come up with all the display pieces as well! We are so passionate about what we do and I want you all to meet the people who put all their hard work, sweat, and in my case blood into the Ivy Cottage.

Cris Strank Owner/Desinger/Master mind. She lives, sleeps (okay not sleeps because she is up all night dreaming up new ideas for growing her business), eats The Ivy Cottage. This is her dream and her dedication and love shows when she works!

Ed Strank my Amour and Wood Shop Manager. He is an incredible craftsman! I don't know what I would do with out his hard work and talent!

Skyler Strank Metal Shop Manager. This kid's patience and skills are mind blowing to us! I shouldn't say kid because he really is a grown man, but you know me he is still my baby!

Jim Strank Shop Associate. Jim has been a strong asset to our shop team. He is such a great worker!

Judy Strank Design Associate. Judy is crazy talented! She can visualize exactly what we need and is extremely dedicated to the success of The Ivy Cottage!

Trish Strank is our multi media manager. She is the one who comes up with the words! She is always able to convey the words I want to say to my customers!

Well before we leave to soak up some sun in California (okay fine it's actually going to be sunnier at home) I thought I'd share some more sunshine with you all!

Summer Time Stuff!!!

We are so excited over the new summer time lines we have in!

The Summer Garlands are so much fun! They look adorable in pretty much every color scheme! Embellishing these are the funnest craft project! We have flowers, paper, ribbons, colored wire, sparkles, well you get the point! We have a lot of really fun things to make this craft project truly unique!

We are really loving the Watermelon door hangers! And we think you will too! These wooden cut outs with the bead board center are so much fun! You have to get the black glitter to spunk these up! This is a great project to do while you day dream about picnics at the park! Putting a decal on them makes them that much more cute! And Ribbon! Oh the ribbon! Stop in soon to get yours! Well my adorable grand babies just got out of the bath tub and are running around naked, and there is nothing cuter (even my watermelons!) than those witto bums! So I am going to go enjoy their little laughter! Good night all!

Metal letters

Our metal letters are a must have right now! They are specially made in our little shop and are the perfect craft project! We have a huge selection of scrap book paper and embellishments that are sure to fit your unique personality! They come unfinished so that you can make them up quick and easily and you get to brag about your creations when visitors compliment them (and they will I promise!)

Storage Compartment Tutorial

The Ivy Cottage just got in an assortment of these darling, fun storage compartments from Kaiser Crafts. They are perfect for jewelry boxes, ribbons and bows ,organizing your craft items or office supplies. Come in and pick the perfect one for your needs... or even more than one =o)

After choosing your desired papers paint all surfaces of all the wood pieces. Trust me it takes more time but I tried to figure out what parts were going to show and only paint them to save time. There are things I didn't think of and ended up trying to touch up unpainted spots without getting paint on the paper.

Decide what paper you want where and trace the wood piece on the back of the paper. Cut it out about 1/8 to 1/4 inch smaller than the pattern to leave a border showing. I found it better to assemble any drawers first so you don't miss the sides that you might not realize will show. I used packing tape to keep my drawers together.

Apply the paper to the wood using Mod Podge or I have had great results using plain old Elmers glue. I just draw a line of glue around the edge and squiggle through the middle then take a damp sponge brush and paint the whole surface of the wood with glue. Place the paper down and smooth it into place. Use a squeegee or pencil or something similar to rub over the paper and press it into place removing any air bubbles you might have missed. If you are using Mod Podge you can apply a layer over top. I have even done this using the Elmers glue.

After it has all dried ink the edges using a stamp pad. I like the Cat eyes from Colorbox because they are small and easy to control.

Assembly will be much easier with 2 people (ask me how I know). I used wood glue to give mine added strength while assembling. Some parts will be a very tight fit but trust me, they will fit. I needed to use a rubber mallet on a few stubborn parts.

Add your embellishments. Buttons, knobs, rhinestones, flowers. Anything you want to give it that finishing touch. Now.... go show it off to all your friends and family. They will be so envious! And don't forget to tell them where you got it. We also have a fun selection of scrapbook paper and even some things for embellishments!
